EAST MACHIAS – Jennifer Savard knocked in six runs with a home run, a double and two singles to lead the Washington Academy Raiders to a 15-2 schoolgirl softball victory over the Woodland Dragons Tuesday.

Diana Bourdeau scattered five hits, striking out six, and helped her cause with a homer and two singles with three RBIs. Krystal Stauffer doubled and singled while Nicole Stauffer and Miranda Fergerson added two singles each.

Lisa Kneeland paced Woodland with a triple and a single. Katie Smith doubled.

At Bangor, Amanda Johnson scored the Rams’ game-winning run from third base when the Warriors tried to stop a steal attempt at second base in the fourth inning.

Johnson, Kerri Tuck and Ashley Tower each singled for Bangor.

Megan Randlett led Nokomis of Newport with an RBI single. Laura Pelkey and Danielle Clark singled for the Warriors, who scored their first two runs on errors.

At Bangor, Gabby Eastman scored the game-winning run on a wild pitch in the bottom of the sixth as the Pats held off the Red Devils of Corinth.

Eastman also had a double and a single for the winners. Kara Hartman went the distance.

Shawna Bell paced Central with two doubles and five RBIs. Stephanie Partridge belted an RBI triple.

Tonya Laughlin paced the Hawks with two RBIs and two singles. Jodi Reynolds added an RBI single.

At East Sullivan, Jessie Hanson scored the winning run after a dropped third strike in the seventh inning.

With runners on first and third with two outs, Abbey Rock reached first base on the dropped third strike as Hanson scored.

The Tigers used a lot of aggressive baserunning to make up for getting only two hits, a double by Meghan Philio and a single by Tess Bickford. Jenay Tucker picked up the win.

The Minutemen were led by Leslie Osborne with a triple, double, and an RBI; Jessica Jandreau added two singles and an RBI; and Jordan Legassey tripled. Kristina MacKenzie collected 11 strikeouts, but surrendered 14 walks.

Ashley Cliff picked up the Crusaders’ lone hit, a single in the second inning.

At Coffin Field in Brewer, the Witches scored four runs in the second inning as Jenny Higgins hit a two-run double, Katie Freeman added an RBI double, and Carolyn McAvoy had an RBI single.

Higgins finished with a double, single, and three RBIs, and Freeman also had a single. Sherri Capponi tossed a two-hitter with nine strikeouts and three walks.

Emma Pope-Welch led the Trojans with a two-run single. Jaime Daugherty singled for MDI’s other hit.

At Ellsworth, the Eagles grabbed a commanding 13-3 lead after just one inning and never looked back.

Katie Sirois had three RBI singles. She also scored three runs. Heidi Chan went 4-for-5 with four singles, two RBIs, and four runs scored. Crystal Roberts scored five times. She also belted a two-run double as did Courtney Breach.

Hadley See smacked a RBI triple for the Red Riots. Marilyn Nichols notched an RBI double.

At Limestone, Kirk Levesque hit a two-run double and added a single as the Warriors rolled over the Eagles.

Corey Bourgoin added an RBI single for Fort Kent. Reliever J.J Pinette pitched three innings, striking out four and holding Limestone hitless.

Eric Crook powered the Eagles with a three-run single and a two-run double.

At Brewer, Chris Cote smacked the game-winning two-run single in the last of the seventh inning to complete a Brewer comeback, in which they were down 6-0, and rallied to knock off the Trojans.

Tony Doucette had a two-run double for the Witches. Justin Spencer got the seventh-inning rally going with an RBI single. Brewer scored three runs in each of the last two innings to go with one in the fifth. Seth Bernier had a sacrifice fly for Brewer.

MDI was powered by Rob McLaughlin, who belted a solo homer and two-run triple.
