HARRINGTON – A strong start combined with a two-out rally in the bottom of the seventh gave the Narraguagus Knights a 7-6 baseball win over Calais Wednesday.

Gene Stewart hit a two-run triple to get things going, then Jordan Kneeland doubled to tie the score. Larry Fickett (two singles, two RBIs) followed with a single to right to win the game.

Kneeland (1-1) scattered 10 hits to get the win and went 3-for-4 with two singles, a double, and two RBIs.

Adrian Arsenault led the Blue Devils with three singles and a double. James MacDonald had two singles and two RBIs while Scott Lynch had a two singles and two RBIs.

At Dyer Brook, Corey Edkins struck out 10, walked one, and allowed two hits in four innings of relief to notch the win for the host Southern Aroostook Warriors.

Corey Shields had a double, single, and two RBIs for the Warriors. Nick Hersey had a double, a single, and an RBI. Jeff Swallow tripled and singled while Matt McCluskey doubled and singled.

For the Vikings of Danforth, Darius Parker pitched six innings and singled for one of five East Grand hits.

For the Tigers, Adam DeMerchant hit an RBI double and Aaron Kenneson delivered an RBI single. Phil Rockford also singled.

Dan Fields led the Tigers with a solo homer and a single. Derek Sawyer singled twice for two RBIs and Matt Foster knocked in two runs on a double and a single. Aaron Thomas tallied an RBI, a double and a single.

At Belfast, Matt Woodrow and Nick Faulkingham combined to strike out 13 batters, with Faulkingham striking out the side in the top of the seventh to save the victory for Woodrow (10 strikeouts) and the Lions.

Ben Cowan belted an RBI double. Woodrow had the go-ahead RBI single in the sixth to put the Lions up for good. Faulkingham then pitched the seventh to earn the save.

Wes Zemrak blasted a two-run homer for the Black Raiders.

At Harrington, Kate Farnsworth belted a game-winning RBI double in the ninth inning to lift the Knights to victory.

Farnsworth had two other singles in the game. Her winning hit plated Becky Robitaille and Brooke Courchaine. Ashley Woodward struck out 16, and connected on a triple and RBI single.

Crystal Martin came a home run short of hitting the cycle for the Blue Devils. She had a pair of doubles, a single, a triple, and an RBI. Lanna Martin had a double, single and RBI. Katie Frost struck out 10.

At Limestone, Nikki Michaud’s two-run double keyed a four-run first inning that lifted the Eagles to the win.

A double play turned by second baseman Katie Adams to shortstop Amanda Leavitt to first baseman Mary Lancaster aided MCI in the fifth. Jasmine Jones paced the offense with a triple and double and Kristen Stevens stole home on the catcher’s throw back to the pitcher.

Crandall also scored the winning run in the third when she singled, stole second, went to third on a Mylie Collins fielder’s choice, and scored on a Kelsey Bryant single. Bryant added a triple and another RBI, and Collins had a double.

Winslow’s Katie Gagne struck out six in the loss. Six players singled for the Black Raiders.

At Guilford, a seven-run fourth inning and solid pitching from Karen Nelson gave the Tigers a win over the Pirates.
