The public is invited to the Penobscot Salmon Club’s opening day breakfast 6:30 a.m. Saturday along the Penobscot River off North Main Street in Brewer.
Breakfast will include samples of Atlantic salmon. Activities planned are a pro and novice casting tourney, a display of antique boats, heirloom fly rods and reels, and classic and working flies.
Even though Maine’s Atlantic salmon are now protected under the Endangered Species Act and salmon fishing is prohibited statewide, the club still wanted to maintain its annual tradition of holding the breakfast.
