BANGOR – The Husson College Braves swept a Maine Athletic Conference softball doubleheader from the University of Maine-Presque Isle Thursday afternoon, winning 7-4 and 6-1.
In the first game, Kelly Dow pitched a three-hitter, struck out five and walked three for the Braves. Erin Weston had three singles, three steals, and an RBI. Abby Henderson had two singles and a stolen base for Husson.
In the second game, Dow pitched a six-hitter. She also had a double, single, and three RBIs. Sami Hibbard singled twice and swiped three bases. Henderson had two singles and two RBIs while Tabitha Bard had two singles and an RBI.
Tiff Miller singled twice for UMPI.

At Orono, Kristie Miller led Bowdoin with two singles for three RBIs.
Emily Rizza hit two singles and scored a run while Katie Sheridan scored a single and scored two runs. Britney Carr had an RBI.
For the University of Maine, Erica Sobel had a double and a single while Leigh Ann Hlywak hit two singles and scored a run.

Bates sweeps Colby
At Lewiston, Bates swept Colby College 3-2 and 5-3 for its fifth and sixth straight wins.
In the first game, Laura Lent hit a two-out, two-run double in the bottom of the fifth for Bates while Cami Dyson drove in the winning run.
Kelly Martin was Colby’s only multiple hitter.
In the second game, Krissie Whiting scored on a sacrifice fly for Bates while Amy Lisavich had three RBI singles. Amanda Beck hit a triple while Brooke Tardiff had a double.
Marcy Wagner and Kate Trasher each hit two singles for Colby.

Thomas sweeps Husson
At Waterville, Thomas swept Husson of Bangor in a doubleheader 6-4 and 10-6.
In the first game, Geoff Burnham hit a double and a single for Thomas while Corey Pelletier had two singles. Lance Haynes and Josh Porter both had doubles.
For Husson, Tony Laprino, John Montgomery and Josh Ferguson each had two singles while John McGlinn had a triple.
In the second game, Haynes blasted a grand slam and a double for Thomas while Scott Sibley had a three-run homer. Aaron Tripp had three singles while Travis Hotham had two doubles and a single. Burnham chipped in with two singles.
McGlinn had a three-run home run for Husson while Montgomery and Mike Worcester each had two singles. Donnie Sawyer had a double.
