Lee Academy Pandas score late, often to rally past Dexter

LEE – The Lee Academy Pandas scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth to upend Dexter 7-6 in baseball action Saturday.

Jeremy Ham smacked an RBI double to pace the Lee Academy attack. Blair Emery, Frank Severance and Andy Ham added a single each.

Ross Morrison tallied three singles and Adam Russell added two more for Dexter.

At Bangor, Shawn Bouchard had two-run doubles in the second and third innings as the Rams rolled past the Red Riots.

Chris Bombardier drove in two runs on two singles, Josh Johnson had a triple and a double and Ryan Worcester singled twice for Bangor.

Ryan Levesque had two singles for Orono.

At Mount Desert Island, Bodie Abbott’s home run and single with two RBIs led Mount Desert Island over Ellsworth.

Derek Strout doubled and singled with two RBIs as Travis Tripp and Gabe Westphal each ripped two singles with two RBIs for the Trojans.

Matt Boles doubled with an RBI for the Eagles while Asa Jones belted a single.

Mattanawcook sweeps pair

At Lincoln, Mattanawcook piled up 53 runs on 32 hits en route to a doubleheader sweep over Penquis on Saturday. The Lynx won 19-0 and 34-1 in games shortened to five innings by the 10-run rule.

In the first game, Mike Springer tossed an abbreviated two-hitter, striking out nine and walking two. Jeff Murchison, Steve Whitney and Andrew Kiles rapped two singles each.

Colby Chase and Justin Dean singled for the Patriots of Milo.

In the second game, Fred Pete jolted a two-run homer and a single en route to three RBIs and Chris Pete added a double, a triple and three more RBIs for the Lynx. Brad Greenlaw drove in three with two singles and Dustin Hanscom singled twice.

Mike Grindle singled twice and Jeremy Webb singled for Penquis.

At Old Town, Marcus Nadeau’s two-run single keyed a four-run inning as the Wildcats downed the Indians 5-3 in the first game of a doubleheader.

Aaron Keirstead had two singles and two runs batted in and James Gale had a pair of singles for Presque Isle.

Chris Brissette doubled and singled and Roger Cole drove in two runs for Old Town.

In the second game, the Indians took advantage of five Presque Isle errors to earn the split 14-4.

Sean McAuley had two singles and two RBIs and John Graves singled twice for Old Town.

Gale had three singles for the Wildcats.

Foxcroft splits with Caribou

At Dover-Foxcroft, Foxcroft Academy and Caribou split both games of a doubleheader, Foxcroft won the first 15-5 and Caribou won the second 9-6.

In game one, Ryan Taylor led Foxcroft with a home run and a triple with four RBIs while Danny White singled three times with two RBIs and Seth Gabarro ripped two singles.

Tristen Noyes singled twice for the Vikings and Travis Snell doubled win two RBIs.

In game two, Tristen Noyes tallied a home run and a single with three RBIs for the Vikings as Travis Snell also homered.

Kyle Wentworth led the Pony attack with a triple and a single with two RBIs while Chris Walker doubled with an RBI.

Briley Belanger paced the Tigers with three singles. Kristy Veazie and Karen Nelson added two singles apiece.

Megan Randlett notched an RBI triple while Danielle Clark ripped a double with an RBI for the Warriors of Newport.

Lynx roll over Penquis twice

At Lincoln, the Mattanawcook Lynx scored 42 runs in two games as they rolled over Penquis Valley in a doubleheader, 26-1 and 16-0.

Kari Vance pitched a no-hitter with 13 strikeouts and nailed a home run for the Lynx while Brandi Rideout homered and singled with two RBIs and Kylie Allen also ripped a home run.

Kristi Lee pitched for the Patriots of Milo.

In game two, Vance tallied a home run, a double, and two singles with five RBIs and gave up only one hit and struck out 12 on the mound while Allen homered and singled twice with three RBIs.

Lil Gerrish notched a single for Penquis.

Old Town sweeps Presque Isle

At Old Town, Sarah Metivier tossed a five-hitter and struck out nine and the Indians won 13-0 in the first game of a Saturday doubleheader. Old Town won 12-0 in the second game.

In the first game, Meghan King and Jessica Paul each tripled, singled and had an RBI. Mary Randall knocked in four runs on a double and a single. Jordan Wildman and Sarah Belden each hit two singles for the Wildcats.

In the second game, Mary Randall fanned eight while giving up just two hits for Old Town. Paul singled three times and drove in two runs. Metivier hit a double, a single and had two RBIs, and Missy Dorr singled twice. Wildman and Sasha O’Clair singled for Presque Isle.
