FAN FEEDBACK

Fan Feedback

It’s nice to see that Red Sox fans will never change. Just because a man asks to have a little more coverage of the world champion New York Yankees, the crybaby Red Sox fans in the area start being childish (BDN, April 24).

What would it hurt for the NEWS staff to give us a little more information on the Yankees? We Yankee fans aren’t asking for front-page coverage. To the gentleman who wrote about the Sox beating the “best team in baseball three out of four times,” remember my friend, it’s what you do in the postseason that counts!

I would like you to print this poem I wrote in 1986, to all Red Sox fans. I hope it is up to standard and in good taste. It’s not meant to offend any group or person. Thank you.

“A Red Sox Fan”

A Red Sox fan in April

Blooms like the tree the maple;

A Red Sox fan in May

Knows that the team can play;

A Red Sox fan in June

Starts to sing a different tune;

A Red Sox fan in July

Stops to ponder, why?

A Red Sox fan in August

Wonders why the bats have turned to sawdust;

A Red Sox fan in September

Now knows it’s time to remember (“1918”)

A Red Sox fan in October

Well, he’s just not sober!
