BANGOR – The Maine Parks and Recreation Association has recognized U.S. Rep. John Baldacci for his work to support parks and outdoor recreational activities.

During a ceremony after the Kenduskeag Canoe Race in downtown Bangor on April 21, the 2nd District congressman was honored for his “constant advocacy of legislative issues that support quality of life and the benefit of parks and recreation.”

Norman Poirier of the Maine Parks and Recreation Association presented a plaque to Baldacci on behalf of his organization to highlight his efforts to protect and enhance parks and outdoor recreational space, and to promote its use.
