Mason, Folsom spark Greenville

GREENVILLE – Junior lefthander Tom Mason spaced three hits over five innings to help the Greenville Lakers beat the Bangor Christian Patriots 15-3 in schoolboy baseball action Tuesday.

Richard Folsom’s two-run triple and Brian Campbell’s two-run single keyed a seven-run first inning that erased a 3-0 deficit.

Folsom (3 RBIs) had a single to go with his triple and Campbell (3 RBIs) finished with two singles. Dan Campbell belted a solo homer.

Tyler Wilson had a two-run single for Bangor Christian.

At Orono, Mike Merritt’s squeeze-bunt single snapped a 3-3 tie in the bottom of the sixth.

Ron Dube singled to start the sixth and pinch runner Mike Violette was sacrificed to second by Al Glossian before reaching third on an infield error and scoring on the Merritt bunt.

Merritt (RBI), Bo Thomas (RBI), Pat Skall and Tom Round had two singles each and Ryan Levesque had a two-run single.

Jon Blair had a two-run double for Nokomis of Newport.

At Hermon, Phil Cayford gave up two hits, struck out four and walked two in five innings to help the Hawks roll over the Tigers.

Hermon’s Matt Watson singled twice and drove in two runs. Ron Lane hit a two-run triple and Jason Shorey hit two singles.

Matt Foster led Dexter with an RBI double and Adam Russell added a single.

At Guilford, James Gray ripped two singles and a double to drive in three runs and lead the Red Devils.

Jason Allen singled, doubled and added an RBI for Central of Corinth. Mike Strout doubled and singled.

Drake Martell paced the Pirates with three singles and two RBIs.

At Deer Isle-Stonington, Josh Bolton pounded out three singles and a home run for two RBIs leading Deer Isle-Stonington to the win.

Evan Haskell had two singles and a solo home run while Justin Boyce added three singles. Bennett Gray chipped in with two singles while Jeff Douglass had a two-run double.

For Highview Christian of Charleston, Nick Waite had a single and two RBI doubles while Devan Philbrick had two singles and an RBI.

At Bingham, two-out, run-scoring singles in the bottom of the seventh by Chris Atwood and Glen Davis rallied Valley past Rangeley.

Jeremy Jones had two triples and an RBI for the winners. Joe Crossman had a triple, two singles and two RBIs; Ryan Atwood had three singles and scored the tying run and Davis doubled and singled and knocked in a pair.

Charlie Rollins picked up the win with 2? innings of hitless relief.

Wiley Tesseo had two singles and an RBI for Rangeley.

At Hermon, Krystal Terrill and Tonya Laughlin each hit an RBI single in the second inning to power the Hawks.

Amber Smith and Lauren Fournier each singled twice for Hermon. Taren MacDonald scattered four hits, struck out eight and walked two.

Angie Hogan, Tiffany Pooler, Sarah Carnes and Cindy Koscielny each singled for the Tigers.

For Central of Corinth, Stephanie Partridge had an RBI single while Shawna Bell had a single and scored the only run. Katie Stetson chipped in with a single.

At Deer Isle, Heather Bray smacked a grand slam in the Mariners’ 12-run sixth inning and added an RBI single in the win.

Roz Santospago drove in three runs on a double and a single. Liz Barbato hit three singles (2 RBIs) and Hollan Oliver singled twice with two RBIs.

Nick Richards hit a two-run single for Highview Christian of Charleston and Heather Niles added two singles.

At North Anson Monday, Rachel Campbell’s bases-loaded double scored three runs to give Georges Valley of Thomaston the victory in the eighth.

Crystal Rogers and Krista Brochu paced the winners with a double, two singles and three RBIs each. Rachel Strong chipped in with a triple, single and two RBIs; Lindsey Barlow singled twice and had two RBIs and Lexie Harjula doubled, singled and had an RBI.

Erica Pelletier doubled twice and drove in four runs for Carrabec. Amanda Luce added a double, two singles and two RBIs and Mary Williams notched three singles. Jamie Manzer contributed two singles and an RBI and Kristina Williams singled twice.

For Orono, Molly Dupere had a double, two singles and an RBI while Hadley See had two singles and an RBI. Emily Reed contributed with a solo home run and a single while Katherine Erb had two singles.

At Bucksport, Annette Caswell and Jamie Freeman combined on a two-hit shutout as the Golden Bucks beat the Trojans.

Caswell allowed one hit in five innings, striking out six, while Freeman gave up one hit in two innings and fanned three.

Ashley McAllian’s two-run single in the second inning provided all the scoring. Kelly White singled twice for Bucksport.

Jessi Mayo singled twice for Mount Desert Island.

Sarah Silsby had a grand slam, two singles and scored three runs while Katie Sirois and Becca Saunders each had two singles and two RBIs. Mallory Patten had a two-run double while Hiedi Chan hit a solo homer and a single.

Ashland used four walks, Leslie Bessey’s RBI bunt single and Kim Oakes’ base hit to produce five fourth-inning runs that broke a 2-2 tie.

Danielle Gagnon doubled and singled for Van Buren and Nicole Corbin had an RBI triple.

At Sherman Station, the Cougars scored four runs with the aid of two errors in the sixth to eke out the victory.

Lacey Willett knocked in four runs with two doubles and a single and Angie Qualey singled twice with four RBIs for Katahdin. Morgan Anderson doubled and singled and Kasi Rush singled twice.

Staci Bell doubled and singled for Greater Houlton Christian Academy.

Keely Sayers, Brooke McCrum and Terri Lynch had singles for Fort Fairfield.

On Monday in Mars Hill, the Pioneers upended Central Aroostook 19-2 behind Cyr’s 12-strikeout two-hitter.

Michaud had a homer and four singles; Cyr tripled, doubled and singled; Cindy Chamberland had a double and two singles and Picard singled twice.

Jocelyn Carvell and Gabe Smith singled for Central Aroostook of Mars Hill.
