MARS HILL – Kyle Larrabee delivered Craig Durost from second with a one-out single in the bottom of the 10th inning as Central Aroostook posted a 9-8 high school baseball win over Washburn Wednesday afternoon.
Durost had singled and stolen second.
Winning pitcher Craig Allen, who hurled five innings of no-hit relief, singled home the tying run in the sixth.
Daniel Codrey and Larrabee each had three hits and three RBIs. Codrey had a triple and Larrabee had a double. Durost and Jeff Clockedile had two singles each.
Josh Maynard had a two-run single while Clinton Carter and Josh Worsley added RBI singles for Washburn.

At Caribou, Griffin St. Peter (2-1) threw 75 of his 97 pitches over eight innings for strikes to lead the Vikings by the Shiretowners.
Bryce McCrossin’s two-run single with two outs in the seventh tied the game for Caribou. In the eighth, Jerry Shanahan beat out a two-out infield single to third and advanced to third on an overthrow at first. He scored the winning run on a throwing error off a ground ball to the right side.
Caribou’s Justin Selfridge had three singles and two RBIs while Shanahan hit a double and a single.
Mike Lenentine (12 strikeouts, 2 walks) hit a grand slam in the fourth inning and singled for Houlton. Billy Washburn and Jesse Henderson each singled twice.

At Jonesport, Steve Colbath socked a two-run homer and Barrett Craven added a solo shot to help Washington Academy past the Royals.
Mike Frans added a two-run double for the Raiders of East Machias.
Darren Kelley hit a double and a single and D.R. Alley added two singles for the Royals. Billy Merchant struck out 10 batters.

At Fort Fairfield, Tyler Hews struck out seven while no-hitting the Tigers for five innings in a game shortened by the 10-run rule.

Billy Romanelli lashed a triple and a double and drove in two for the Dragons. Freshman Rick Roussell added an RBI double.

At Newport, junior lefty Justin Veazie threw a three-hit shutout in the nightcap, striking out six and walking three.
James Lister knocked in two runs with a first-inning double and sixth-inning single and he also had another base hit. Veazie had an RBI triple.
Jonas Bard doubled for Presque Isle.
In the opener, Aaron Keirstead had a two-run single in the four-run first-inning rally and finished with four base hits.
Marcus Nadeau had three singles and R.J. Gagnon doubled, singled and delivered two runs.
Shawn Henderson, Ian Buzzanoskie and Tyler MacKenzie had two singles each for Nokomis.

Shead sweeps East Grand
At Eastport, Larry Bowen collected four hits and drove in four runs in two games to help Shead to 8-4 and 15-7 wins over East Grand of Danforth. Bowen also won the opener, striking out eight and walking three.
In the first game, Bowen doubled and singled and drove in two runs for the Tigers. Cliff Urquhart and Ben Maloney added a triple and a single apiece.
James Zugelder rapped three singles and drove in a run for the Vikings while Scott Flannery doubled, singled and knocked in one.
In the second game, Darrin Constant tripled, singled twice and drove in three runs for the Tigers. Maloney added a double, two singles and two RBIs while Bowen double and singled and knocked home two more. Maloney struck out eight in his complete-game outing.
Zugelder had three singles for the Vikings while Darius Parker lashed a three-run triple and Chris Irish singled twice and drove in a run.

At St. Agatha, Kirk Levesque belted two home runs, two-run and three run shots, to go with an RBI double, totaling six runs driven in to pace the Warriors.
Corey Bourgoin also blasted a two-run shot for Fort Kent. Joey Pelletier had a pinch-hit two-run blast for the winners.
Brad Picard had four hits, a double and three singles for the Pioneers.

At Eastport, East Grand won the opener 16-12 while Shead salvaged a doubleheader split by winning the second game 20-11.
In the first game, Tara Cropley notched three singles and two RBIs for East Grand. Michelle Johnson hit an RBI single. Leah Moore of Shead belted a three-run homer. Natalie Smith had a single, double, and three RBIs. Sam Davis smacked a double and a triple.
In the second game, the Vikings turned a 6-4-3 triple play to end a five-run Shead first-inning barrage.
Roliza DeWitt had two singles, a double, and three RBIs for Shead. Nadine Bouchard had three singles and a pair of RBIs.
Lindsay Faulkner rapped two singles to drive in two runs for the Vikes. Mesha Whitney added a single, double, and two RBIs.

At Newport, lefty Kristen Guiggey scattered 10 hits in the opener and three in the nightcap to supply the Wildcats with their first two wins of the season.
Guiggey struck out five and didn’t walk anybody in the opener and had four strikeouts and one walk in the abbreviated nightcap.
Nokomis was without five starters, who were on a band trip.
Sarah Belden had a run-scoring triple and Jessica Miller had an RBI single in the opener.
Laura Pelkey’s three singles and Tina Turner’s two base hits paced Nokomis.
In the second game, Melissa Pelletier drove in four runs with a triple and a double, Lauren Wildeman had a triple, two singles and an RBI and Miller had a pair of base hits.
Pelkey had one of the Nokomis singles.

At St. Agatha, Cindy Chamberland had a double, a single, and four RBIs to help the Pioneers cruise.
Fort Kent committed seven errors to help Wisdom’s cause. Nina Michaud drove in five runs, on two doubles and two singles. Christa Lizotte had three RBI singles.
Melissa Plourde doubled and Melissa Morneault had two singles for the Warriors’ only hits.
