The Saint Joseph’s College softball team will make its third consecutive appearance in the NAIA Northeast Regional Softball Championship Thursday and Friday at Georgian Court College in Lakewood, N.J.

Saint Joseph’s enters the double elimination tournament with a 24-14 record and as the third seed in the four-team field. The Monks will meet second-seeded Holy Family College of Philadelphia. The Tigers are 27-22.

Tourney host and top-seeded Georgian Court College (36-6) takes on fourth seed Green Mountain College (11-9) of Poultney, Vt.

The Monks received an automatic bid to the tourney after defeating Green Mountain 8-0 in the New England Softball Tournament championship on Saturday.

Saint Joseph’s will be facing Holy Family for the first time this season. The Monks dropped a doubleheader to Georgian Court in March.

The tournament is one of 14 NAIA regional tournaments. Tournament winners will advance to the NAIA National Softball Championship, May 18-22 in Decatur, Ala. The Monks have made three trips to the national tournament, the most recent coming in 1999.
