Ouellete, Russell power Patriots past Dexter 8-5

DEXTER – Lindsay Ouellette’s two-run single sparked the Patriots’ four-run first inning, in which Penquis of Milo took advantage of the Tigers’ four errors and went on to an 8-5 softball victory over Dexter.

Winning pitcher Megan Russell rapped two singles and Arielle Sickler had a triple.

Cindy Koscielny recorded a double, single, and an RBI, and Briley Belanger had a single and two RBIs.

At Camden, Jen Cummings recorded her first no-hitter of the season, and the second of her career with four strikeouts for the MCI Huskies of Pitsfield.

Katie Adams, Megan Ferland and Claire Lackie recorded MCI’s three hits with a single each.

Toni-Lynn Robbins recorded nine strikeouts for Camden Hills, holding the Huskies to only three hits.

At East Sullivan, Nikki Keniston knocked in three runs on two triples and a single to power the Eagles of Blue Hill.

Denise Erland singled twice and added an RBI for GSA. Nicole Boutin hit two singles.

Meghan Philio paced the Tigers with a single and two RBIs. Jessie Hanson hit a double and drove in a run, and Tess Bickford singled and added an RBI.

At Rockland, Allison Fergerson hurled a two-hitter with four strikeouts and no walks as the Raiders rolled.

Libby Dube and Angie Berube each hit a triple for Oak Hill of Sabattus. Danielle Sargeant and Ashley Grondin each doubled, and Hope Nadeau hit two singles.

Jessica Clark and Ashley Lowe each hit a single for the Tigers.

At Old Town, Meghan King drove in three runs on two doubles and a single to lead Old Town to victory.

Jessica Paul followed up with two singles and three RBIs, and Missy Dorr hammered in two singles for the Indians.

Michelle Murray recorded both of Nokomis’ runs on a double and a single. Tina Turner also contributed two singles.

At Corinth, Jen Allen’s two-run home run in the first highlighted a five-run inning as the Central Red Devils exploded early and held on for dear life.

Starter Shauna Smith (seven-hitter) struck out the final batter with the tying run at second after the Vikings had scored twice in the seventh.

Allen also doubled, as did Jody Harvey for the Devils. Shauna Smith pitched a seven-hitter to notch the win.

Tina Button had two singles, a double, and a triple for the Vikings. Lura Carroll singled twice for the Vikings.

At Millinocket, Lynn Farrington had a double, two singles, and two RBIs for the Schenck Wolverines of East Millinocket.

Farrington also pitched a six-hitter for the win. Alicia Cram had two singles and two runs scored.

Becca Saucier and Kristina MacKenzie each singled twice for the Minutemen of Millinocket. Jessica Jandreau hit a two-run single.

At Foxcroft, Emily Reed drove in four runs on a double and a single to carry Orono to their first win of the season.

Hadley See followed up with a triple, two singles and two RBIs. Molly Dupere added a triple, a double, a single and two RBIs and Mary Thibeault knocked in two singles for the Red Riots.

Mandi Murray led Foxcroft Academy with a triple, a double and a single, and Leigh Cartwright and Casey Snow recorded two singles and two RBIs each.

At Monmouth, Emily Gauthier struck out ten Greenville batters to claim a victory after five innings for Monmouth.

Megan Jackson led Monmouth offensively with a double and a single. Bekah Bubier followed up with two singles.

Jamie Craft and Laura Blair recorded a single apiece for Greenville.

At Woodland, two-run singles in the fourth inning by Brook Courchaine and Kate Farnsworth snapped a 3-3 tie in favor of the Knights of Harrington.

Courchaine finished with three singles, Farnsworth had a double and single, and Becky Robitaille added two singles. Ashley Woodward struck out 17.

Kelsey Snowman led the Dragons with two singles.

At Thorndike, Chris Bryant and Chris Carman each hit an RBI double in the Mustangs’ seven-run sixth en route to the win.

Keith Fuller chipped in with two singles for Mount View. Shane Eddy doubled, singled, had an RBI and struck out six in five innings.

Steve Hanna led the Eagles of Newcastle with three singles. Ben Buckland added an RBI double.

At Readfield, Greg Creek hit two home runs – a three-run shot in the fourth and a two-run, game-ending shot in the sixth – along with a single to lead the Maranacook Black Bears.

Jared Lemieux doubled, singled twice, and drove in a run for Maranacook. Mike Buckley had two singles and two RBIs. Ben Muniz (3-1) got the complete-game win.

Matt Woodrow had two singles, a double, and one RBI for Belfast.

At Rockport, Tom Massey’s bases-loaded single in the sixth inning scored the winning runs for the Windjammers.

Abe Dugal clouted a two-run homer in the third for Camden Hills, Peter Moro ripped a solo homer in the fifth, Brian Fitzpatrick rapped two singles, and Massey had another single.

Jake Laselle paced Maine Central Institute of Pittsfield with an RBI single.

Mike Grindle topped the Patriots of Milo with an RBI single.

At Millinocket, Minuteman Matt Leino started the first inning with a two-run triple to give Stearns an early lead.

Nick Beaulieu followed up with a double, a single and an RBI. Ryan Sweeney and Aaron Rideout contributed two singles apiece.

Adam Dempsey led Schenck with a double, two singles and an RBI. Drew Fayle also committed an RBI single for the Wolverines.

At East Sullivan, reliever Baren Yurchick came on in the third to strike out two with the bases loaded and went on to allow only one hit in four innings to lift George Stevens Academy to victory.

Jake Lowell slammed an RBI triple and doubled for the winners of Blue Hill.

Dustin Young singled twice for Sumner.

At Corinth, Lowell Oyster’s bases-loaded, seeing-eye single through the left side of a drawn-in infield scored the winning run in the eighth as Central edged the Vikings.

Matt Libby doubled, singled twice and drove in two runs for the Red Devils. Oyster had three singles and Robbie Girvan had two singles plus an RBI.

James Gray went the distance to outduel Pasco Grove and get a win.

Grove led Searsport with two singles and an RBI.

At Bangor, Bruce Stevens led the Lee Academy Pandas with two singles, a double, and four RBIs.

Blair Emery singled twice and Andy Ham added a two-run double. Jason Mallett had a double for the Pandas.

Tyler Wilson hit a bases-loaded triple for the Patriots. Matt Conley and Dave Chrisos each singled twice.

At Old Town, Brian Tewhey cranked out a grand slam in the third inning to give Old Town the win over Nokomis in only five innings.

Tewhey batted in a total of six runs. Pitcher Ryan Brown held the Warriors to only two hits, striking out 11. Shawn Tidwell and Jason Robins contributed up with two singles apiece.

Mike Jacques recorded a double for Nokomis, and pat Morse added a single.

At Fort Fairfield, with two outs in the eighth, Ryan Helstrom singled in Tim Blier to give Fort Fairfield the winning run.

Blier had previously hit an RBI single for the Tigers.

Dan Buckley hit a triple and a double for Limestone and Steve Hardwick notched three singles.

Frank Plucker cranked out a two-run homerun in the fifth for the Beavers. Clinton Carter and Josh Maynard hit two singles apiece.
