AUGUSTA – The state of Maine is looking for two dozen lifeguards to monitor some of the most popular coastal and inland swimming areas this summer.

Although the season’s opening is fast approaching, officials say potential applicants still have time to be certified.

Lifeguard coordinator Gloria Allen of the Bureau of Parks and Land may be reached by telephone at 624-6079.

Among locations with openings are Popham Beach, Sebago Lake and Crescent Beach.
