PORTLAND – The Maine Green Independent Party will hold its 2001 convention from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, May 19, at the Woodbury Campus Center of the University of Southern Maine, Bedford Street.
Elections will be held and candidates will be able to address the convention. Changes to the platform and bylaws also will be presented. Speaking will be John Rensenbrink of the International Committee of the Association of State Green Parties, who has returned from a Global Green Conference in Canberra, Australia, where preliminary work was done on a Global Green Charter.
