OLD TOWN – Sean McAuley’s second game-winning homer of the season, a two-run shot in the bottom of the ninth, gave Old Town an 8-6 triumph over Hampden in high school baseball action Thursday.
McAuley pulled a 3-2 fastball over the right field fence.
Chris Rand’s one-out double, his stolen base and Josh Cyr’s infield single tied it before McAuley won it.
McAuley also had a double and a single; Roger Cole had two doubles and two RBIs; Shaun Tidwell doubled and singled; and Brian Tewhey had two singles and an RBI.
Kyle Dalton had a double, three singles, and two RBIs for Hampden. His RBI single gave the Broncos a 6-5 lead in the top of the ninth.
Billy Bruschi doubled and singled and scored three times and Matt Jackson singled twice and had an RBI.

At Milo, sophomore righthander Steve Kissell spaced seven hits, striking out four and walking one, as Penquis won its first game since 1997.
Penquis, now 1-12, was winless in 1998 and 2000 and didn’t have a baseball program in 1999 because they didn’t get enough players to try out.
The Patriots took the lead for good with a five-run second-inning uprising after Schenck had scored twice in the top of the second.
Kissell’s RBI triple and Mike Grindle’s run-scoring single keyed the second-inning rally.
Colby Chase had two base hits for the winners, Jason Stubbs had an RBI double and Chuck Wooten singled in a run.
Mike Hamlin and Pat Jamo had run-scoring base hits for Schenck.

Jessica Taylor had the only two hits for the Golden Bucks, both singles.

Kuester had three singles to go with her triple and she drove in four runs. Diedra Ham had three singles and two RBIs and Danielle Jipson had a pair of base hits as did winning pitcher Crystal Moore. Moore had an RBI.
