Kory Martin of Pittsfield, Jeremy Potter of Bucksport and Michael Dube of Bangor are among 12 high school golfers to receive college scholarships from the Maine State Golf Association.
Each scholarship awarded is for $1,000 per academic year and is available to the undergraduate for four years as long as the student remains in good academic standing.
Also receiving scholarships were: Frank Pike, Bridgton; Garrett Copp, Mechanic Falls; Marja Hatfield, East Winthrop; Andrew Hammond, Lyman; Robert Herzing, Belgrade Lakes; Eric Higgins, Kennebunk; David Labranche, Biddeford; Jessica Coady, Bridgton; and Kyle Mitchell, Frankfort.
To be eligible for the scholarship a candidate must: have an active interest in golf; provide evidence of financial need; be a graduate or prospective graduate of a Maine high school; and be outstanding in character, integrity, and leadership as demonstrated by participation in extracurricular, civic and or community services.
