Letter writer Michael Gleason (BDN, May 15) was upset that Timothy McVeigh’s execution was postponed. The chief reason it was necessary to postpone it was because of the inept FBI, or federal government, handling of the case documents.
When one stops to really think about this ineptness it is merely a continuation of the government bungling of many such matters. Where was Gleason’s outrage over Ruby Ridge, Waco and other similar atrocities the government bungled and took the lives of innocent Americans?
Such government killing gave rise to the anger and prompted the actions of McVeigh, who acted murderously.
It gives credence to the saying, “I love my country, but fear my government!”
