John Bapst Memorial High School, Bangor
BANGOR – Graduation exercises will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, June 3, at the John Bapst Memorial High School auditorium. Senior Night will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday, June 1, at the auditorium.
Valedictorian is Catherine A. DelVecchio, daughter of Eugene and Tandy DelVecchio of Orono. She received a National Merit Scholarship, the Bausch and Lomb Award, Xerox Award, Seven Sisters Book Award, Principal’s Leadership Award, and DAR Good Citizen Award. She is a member of the Concert Choir and National Honor Society, is an officer in Key Club and Student Senate, and is high scorer on the Math Team, ranking first in Eastern Maine League competition. She is varsity captain of the field hockey, skiing and tennis teams. She will study biology at Bowdoin College.
Salutatorian is William D. Rice, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Rice of Veazie. She is a National Merit Finalist, a member of the National Honor Society, and recipient of the Maine Scholars Achievement Award. He is a member of the Chess and Math teams and is a top scorer in state competitions. He has letters in cross-country, indoor track, and spring track. He will study physics at Brown University.
