HOULTON – The Lenentine family combined to drive in 11 runs to power the Houlton Shiretowners to a 24-11 schoolgirl softball victory over the Hodgdon Hawks Monday.

Anna Lenentine tripled twice and drove in five runs to lead the attack and her sister, Valerie, chipped in with three singles and three RBIs. Their distant cousin, Rebecca, chipped in with two singles and three RBIs. Casey Cleary contributed a double and single.

Sarah Oliver singled twice and drove in two runs for Hodgdon and Shonna McGary added two singles.

Calais wins two

At Calais, the Blue Devils won two games, beating out Washington Academy 8-7 and then Machias 5-3.

In the first game, Katie Frost and Mia Silverthorne each hit two-run singles in the seventh to put Calais in the lead.

Lanna Martin also had a two-run single.

For Washington Academy, Miranda Fergerson hit a triple and a single for three RBIs while Nicole Stauffer had a two-run triple and Diana Bourdeau had two singles and an RBI.

In the second game, Frost led Calais with two singles and a double while Sarah Ludington and Crystal Martin both added two singles.

Sarah Hussey hit a two-run single for Machias and Jillian Whitney doubled.

Keely Sayers had a triple, two singles and two RBIs, while Nikki Rogeski tripled, doubled and drove in two runs. Maranda Butler added a double, two singles and two RBIs.

Freshman righty Lindsey Barlow scattered six hits over five innings with eight strikeouts and one walk.

Levenson-Falk’s triple came during a three-run second inning that expanded a 3-2 lead.

Ashley Cluff had two singles and three RBIs for John Bapst and Levenson-Falk had a single to go with her triple.

At Fort Kent, J.J. Pinette scored on a passed ball in the bottom of the ninth to give the Warriors the win over the Eagles.

At Calais, Calais defeated Washington Academy 9-4, but then lost to Machias 11-5.

In the first game, Joe Footer had six RBIs on two doubles and a single, leading Calais to the win.

James Macdonald drove in two on two singles while Andy Frost had an RBI double.

For Washington Academy of East Machias, Ryan Maker hit a double and a single while Jason Ramsdell had a solo home run.

In the second game, Will Hasselman led Machias with two singles for two RBIs.

Todd Stevens contributed with an RBI double.

Scott Lynch hit two singles for Calais while Nathan Pelletier had a double and a single. Russ McLean and Macdonald added a double each.

Morales was running for Ryan Dorsey, who had hit one of his three singles in the game. Dorsey also had three RBIs. Kris Osgood singled three times and drove in a run. Ben Arato doubled and singled, and Aaron Kenneson struck out nine and walked one for the pitching win.

Craig Allen paced the Panthers of Mars Hill with a two-run homer in the third and a single. Kyle Larrabee singled three times and Dan Codrey fanned eight in the loss.
