I want to thank George Hill (BDN, May 16) for stating very well the position of the Family Planning Association on the killing of unborn babies, which is euphemistically called “abortion.” Ever since family planning has been pushed onto the American masses, their lesser known advocacy of abortion has been refuted. Now their programs have been highly recommended for schools, churches, etc., and embraced by many, causing the term “abortion” to be taken lightly.
Sens. Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins should not be congratulated for their support of the Global Democracy Protection Act, which will overturn President Bush’s executive order to keep funds from going to organizations that provide abortions. Snowe and Collins are very much pro-unborn baby killing and have stated so unequivocally.
Hill states that “over 75,000 women worldwide die from unsafe abortions.” I question the source of his statistic and ask him where the statistics stand for the death of women who have had so-called “safe” abortions, remembering that there is always one who is expected to die with every abortion procedure.
