Mt. Blue High School, Farmington

Graduation at Mount Blue High School will be at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 9.

Jared Williams Jordan is valedictorian of the 2001 graduating class of Mount Blue High School. He received the Bausch and Lomb Science Award 2000, the National Honor Society 2000-2001 Award, the Bobby Watson Award for Acting Excellence 2000 and 2001, The Instrumentalist Magazine First Chair Award for Trumpet, Top Scholar Award from the University of Maine in Orono, the Maine Principal’s Award, and honorable mention for the Margaret Chase Smith Scholarship Essay.

He also participated in soccer his freshman year, concert band for four years, theater for two years, and peer tutor for two years in subjects such as math and photography. He also volunteered for the Farmington Thrift Store weekly during his senior year. He is an avid sailor.

Salutatorian Scott Brown is the son of Rodney and Susan Brown of Farmington. He has played football for four years, serving as captain for one year. He was named to the All-State football team, All-Academic football team, high school football player of the week, and was a Wendy’s National High School Heisman Trophy state finalist.

For three years he was a member of the Mount Blue Theater Company, in the All-State Theater cast, the All-Festival Theater cast, and received the Bobby Watson Awards for Technical and Acting Excellence.

He served as president of the National Honor Society, and was awarded high school student of the month honors and the Maine Scholars Achievement Award.
