Jonesport-Beals High School
JONESPORT – Colleen Haskell, principal of Jonesport-Beals High School, and the faculty have announced the class parts for the school year 2000-2001.
Baccalaureate service will be held at 10 a.m. June 10, and graduation ceremonies will be held at 2 p.m. at the school.
Valedictorian is Chelsie Carver, daughter of Beth and Albert Carver. She is a member of the National Honor Society, has received the Paine Principal’s Award, the Xerox Foundation Award, a Perfect Attendance Award, and the Maine Scholar’s Achievement Award. In school she has been active in golf, basketball, softball, the yearbook and class activities, and in community groups throughout her high school career. She plans to attend the University of Maine in the fall.
Salutatorian Jared Crowley is the son of Pam and Boyd Crowley. He served on the Student Council, and participated in drama, class activities and chess. Active in the Junior Firefighters, Jared serves as a senior mentor for the elementary school. A member of the National Honor Society, he has received the HOBY Leadership Award, the Maine Scholar’s Achievement Award, and the National Science Olympiad Award for Language Arts. He will attend the University of Maine.
Class Night will be held at 7 p.m. June 8 with the class history given by Roberta Garnett, daughter of Mildred and Donald Garnett; the class prophecy by Tasha Look, daughter of Letitia and William Look; the class will by Naomi York, daughter of Alice and Gerald York; class gifts by Phena Alley, daughter of Donna and Gilbert Alley. Garnett will attend Husson College, Look will attend the University of Maine at Machias, Chandler will attend Eastern Maine Technical College, and Alley will attend the University of Maine at Presque Isle.
