Rangeley Lakes Regional High School
RANGELEY – Rangeley Lakes Regional High School has named Ryan Aylesworth class valedictorian and Holly Johnson salutatorian. Graduation ceremonies will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 9, at Rangeley Lakes Regional High School.
Valedictorian Aylesworth has been a member of the school’s golf team, varsity basketball team, the Envirothon Team, the Math Team, host of a teen talk show on a local cable television channel, a member of the varsity baseball team and high school drama productions.
Honors and awards received include the National Honor Society, Dirigo Boys State representative, nomination to the National Youth Leadership forum on medicine, high honor roll, Rangeley Lakes Regional School Young Scientist Award, Distinguished Writer Award, Maine Scholars Achievement Award, National Merit Scholar Award in English and science, Breadloaf New England Young Writers Alternate, and the American Citizenship award.
This fall he will attend Cornell University.
Salutatorian Johnson has been active as a sports manager for varsity girls basketball and volleyball, varsity boys basketball, baseball and soccer, on the yearbook committee, the Math Team, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and leader in 1999-2000, prom committee, Forensics Team and the Academic Decathlon.
Awards and honors received include the Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizen Award, class vice president, the National Honor Society, National Merit Scholar for science and English, nominated and attended the Truth Summit, nominated and attended the National Youth Leadership Forum on Medicine, East-West Conference All Star Manager of the Year, Clayton Philbrick Sportsmanship Award, Academic Decathlon and class secretary.
In the fall she will attend Gordon College in Wenham, Mass.
