WATERVILLE – A Winslow man attacked his mother because he thought she had tipped police off about a marijuana crop, police said.

Steve Graf, 25, threatened, pushed and spit on his mother, Carlene Cram, after police raided Graf’s home for marijuana.

Drug enforcement agents on Tuesday seized dozens of young marijuana plants growing on land across from Graf’s home. The investigation is continuing, police said, but Graf has not been charged in connection with the raid.

Police said the raid was launched after police received a tip from an anonymous source.

Cram called police later that evening to say Graf had threatened and assaulted her, blamed her for the raid, and said he would “be back to get her,” police said.

Graf was taken to the Kennebec County jail in Augusta and is scheduled to appear in court on July 18.
