Shead High School, Eastport

Shead High School graduation exercises will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday, June 7, at the high school. Class Day will be at 2 p.m. June 7, and the graduation ball will be at 8 p.m. Friday, June 8, at the high school.

Lura Crawford and William Wentworth are co-valedictorians, and Sara Ricker is salutatorian.

Crawford is the daughter of Steve and Judy Crawford of Perry. She has won awards for her poetry and has been a member of the tennis team. She will study psychology at Tulane University, New Orleans.

Wentworth, son of Rikki and Billy Wentworth of Eastport, has been active in the National Honor Society, math team, U.S. Academic Decathlon and chess, and has played basketball, tennis and run cross country. He has worked with the Eastport Youth Association. He will attend the University of Maine, Orono, to study history and business administration.

Ricker, daughter of Darlington and Louise Ricker of Perry, excelled in basketball, cross country, volleyball, soccer, softball and tennis. She is vice president of the National Honor Society and has been class treasurer. She will attend the University of Maine at Machias to study education or recreation and plans to play basketball and soccer during her college years.

First honor part is Ryan Moore, son of Carolyn Seavey and Jeff Moore of Dennysville. He played baseball and tennis and is a member of the National Honor Society. He will attend the University of Maine at Presque Isle.

Second honor part is Cassandra Ricker, daughter of Peter and Sheila Ricker of Perry. She played basketball, soccer, ran cross country and was basketball manager. She was vice president of her class for three years and a member of the senior committee, prom committee, yearbook staff and the National Honor Society. She will study business administration at the University of Maine at Machias.

Third honor part is Shauna Neptune, daughter of Hilda Stevens of Eastport and the late Billy Neptune. She is president of the Student Senate and a member of the National Honor Society. She has played softball and basketball. She will work in southern Maine before deciding on a college.

Fourth honor part is Charla Lingley, daughter of James and Linda Lingley of Eastport. She was active in basketball, soccer, softball and tennis and has been president and secretary of her class. She served on the prom committee and yearbook staff. She will study business management at the University of Southern Maine.
