HODGDON – Shanna McGary knocked in two runs on a double in the seventh inning to give the Hodgdon Hawks a 6-5 victory over the Stearns Minutemen in a Class C softball prelim Saturday.
Heather Martin recorded two doubles and an RBI, and Sara Quint drove in a run on two singles for the Hawks.
Brandi Michaud led Stearns of Millinocket with three singles. Randy Fournier hit two singles, and Casey Popp contributed a double.

At the Husson College softball field in Bangor, Annie Levenson-Falk drove in Alex Waring to clinch the game for host John Bapst in the eighth inning.
Nikki Novak brought the game into extra innings when she scored for the Crusaders on a passed ball. Keegan Richard recorded an RBI with two singles, and Rebecca Stevens notched a double and a single.
Kirby Gushee led Rockland with three singles and an RBI, and Megan Dean knocked in a run on a single.
