LEE – Jeremy Ham nailed a three-run homer in the bottom of the eighth inning Monday, lifting Lee Academy to a 7-4 victory over Sumner in a Class C schoolboy preliminary round contest.

Lee travels to No. 2 Hodgdon for a Thursday quarterfinal matchup.

Ham also struck out 12 and gave up only two earned runs for the Pandas, who were 9-0 at home this season.

Nate Dow singled twice with an RBI while Matt Corbin stole six bases.

For Sumner of East Sullivan, Mike Hardy doubled and singled while Robert Loker singled twice. Dustin Young added a double.

At Harrington, Mike Beal and Larry Fickett each drove in four runs to power No. 12 Narraguagus past No. 13 Limestone.

The Knights advanced to today’s 4 p.m. second-round prelim at No. 5 Calais.

Beal and Fickett each notched a single and triple for the winners and Jordan Kneeland drove in three runs on a double and single.

Adam MacPherson recorded three singles and three RBIs for the Limestone/Maine School of Science and Mathematics and Mike Maviro added two singles and two RBIs.

Jeff Swallow hit a solo homer, and had an RBI single while Matt McCluskey hit a solo home run and two singles for the winners.

For Washburn, Clint Carter hit a two-run single while Trevor Thibodeau added a double.

At Hermon, Dave Chrisos scattered seven hits and aided his own cause with a two-run single to lift No. 10 Bangor Christian past No. 15 East Grand of Danforth.

BC travels to Eastport today to play No. 7 Shead in a second-round prelim.

Chrisos struck out seven and walked two for the winners and delivered a bases-loaded single in the second inning. D.J. McCleary delivered the game-winning hit in the fifth inning when he singled in Ben Sobey, who had singled and advanced to third on a throwing error.

McCleary and Chase Ossinger each singled twice for the winners.

Scott Flannery slammed a two-run triple for the Vikings and Chris Irish singled twice.

At East Corinth, Mindy Dyer and Jean Hamlin both hit two-run singles, leading Penquis to the win.

The Patriots visit No. 5 Narraguagus of Harrington Tuesday for a second-round prelim game.

Erika Morrell, Lindsay Ouellette, Arielle Sickler and Amanda Martin each had an RBI single for the Patriots of Milo.

For Central, Amy Shaw hit a two-run homer while Jody Harvey Jen Allen each had two singles.
