Penquis Valley High School, Milo

Graduation exercises will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 10, at the Penquis Valley High School.

Valedictorian is Abigail Miller Robinson, daughter of John and Maggie Robinson of Sebec. She has taken part in soccer, basketball, tennis, and track and field and is a member of the National Honor Society, Big Brothers-Big Sisters, Key Club, Drama Club and Student Council. She took part in Close Up and the Spain trip. Her awards include Coaches Award in basketball and PVC All-Academic Team, PVC Second Team in tennis, President’s Award for Educational Excellence, Maine Scholars Achievement Award, the Decker Award for Athletics and Honor Roll Award. She will attend the University of Maine, Orono, to study anthropology and archaeology.

Salutatorian is Ashley Monahan, daughter of David and Cheryl Monahan of Brownville Junction. She is a member of the National Honor Society, received the Decker Award, Maine Scholars Award, and the Top Scholar Award. She will attend the University of Maine, Orono.

First honor essayist is Candi Lee Hartmann, daughter of Frederick and Kimberly Hartmann of Milo. She is president of the National Honor Society, vice president of the Student Council, is a member of the Key Club and the yearbook staff. She has received the Decker Award and George Mitchell Scholarship. She will attend the University of Maine, Orono, to study psychology.

Second honor essayist parts are shared by Jeremy Mills, son of Paul and Alice Mills of Milo, and Justin Dean, son of George and Karen Dean of Brownville Junction.

Mills attended Tri-County Technical Center in Dexter for two years in the automotive program and received the Decker Award.

Dean is a member of the National Honor Society, Key Club, Student Council and Big Brothers-Big Sisters. He was a peer mediator for three years, a member of the video club two years and played in the Pep Band and Jazz Band. He took part in Close Up and Boys State and traveled to Spain with a school group. He also took part in the Science Fair and the BEAM State Business contest. He won first place in the Regional Business contest in computer fundamentals. He will attend the University of Maine.
