The June 5 Bangor Daily News pleased me so much. So often I skip through your pages and don’t get a lift from it, but the article, so well-written, by Tom Groening (“Island living”) was great. I congratulate the three key people who put that musical show together – school principal Barney Hallowell of North Haven, John Wulp of Vinalhaven and Cindy Bullens of North Haven. What a tremendous effort which must tie that small island community together. I laugh at the title of the show which came from a student’s remark – “Six mothers, 350 baby sitters.”
If this show is repeated this summer, I hope to be in the audience. Congratulations to everyone involved.
And while I’m writing – the same edition also carried several letters to the editor which I go along with. Support BACORD – and if we wish to help the downtown business area, let’s go for a shopping outlet on the downtown water area. If you live in a small community like I do, do your bit to support local businesses and any community event which you can.
