LEBANON, Tenn. – The Rev. Gary A. DeLong of Bar Harbor, Maine, was awarded an honorary doctor of humanities degree at Cumberland University’s commencement exercises May 12.

After receiving the degree, DeLong delivered the commencement address.

DeLong is executive director of the Maine Sea Coast Missionary Society in Bar Harbor. The society provides financial, social, health care and pastoral programs and services to people living on islands and in isolated communities on the coast of Maine.
