CALAIS – James Gray tossed a one-hitter, fanning 10 and walking just two as Penquis rolled over Calais 14-1 in American Legion baseball action Thursday.
Bill Cane belted two homers, a two-run shot and a grand slam, to go with a single for the Navigators. James Gray blasted a three-run homer. Mike Strout had a solo homer and two singles.
Chad Pike singled for the Suns’ lone hit.

At Newport, Pasco Grove struck out nine and walked four as Waldo of Belfast prevailed.
John Bonney and Chris Carmen added three singles for the winners. Carmen also hit a triple. Matt Woodrow had two doubles and a single, and Ben Relyea and Keton Spaulding each hit a double and a single.
Jake Lasell had three singles for the Storm.

At Husson College in Bangor, Ryan Brown scattered four hits while striking out seven and walking three to spark Orono.
Orono scored all its runs in the first on a Bo Thomas RBI single and a two-run single by Benn Clark.
Mike Cowperthwaite, who gave up five hits and four walks, was the hard-luck loser. Ben Abbott had an RBI single for Trenton.
