Kayle Shapero of Bangor has been selected to the 15-member junior swim team as a part of the U.S. delegation to the 16th World Maccabiah Games July 15-26 in Israel. Shapero is a Bangor High sophomore who swims for the Tim Babcock-coached Hurricane Swim Club.

The Olympic-style competition for Jewish athletes is held once every four years in Israel. Olympic gold medalist Lenny Krayzelburg heads up the 15-member senior swimming team.
