Husson College second baseman Don Sawyer drove in four runs with a triple and a double to lead the NAIA All-Stars to a 14-2 triumph over the Czech Republic in the first game of Prague Baseball Week 2001.
Brewer’s Sawyer is the only member of the NAIA team from New England.
The NAIA All-Stars held baseball clinics earlier this week for over 100 children from Prague as part of the team’s visit.
The NAIA stars will next face the Ukraine on Wednesday. They will play Germany on Thursday followed by the medal round on Friday and the championship game on Saturday.
The week-long event is in its 20th year and features six countries and five national teams.
