ORRINGTON – Authorities are investigating the death of a 55-year-old man Tuesday and awaiting the results of an autopsy scheduled for today to determine the cause of death.

Uncertain of what led to the man’s death, including whether it was a suicide, an investigator could say little Tuesday night except that an emergency 911 call was placed to authorities and police found the man dead at a Hoxie Hill Road residence. The call came into the Penobscot Regional Communications Center at 1:35 p.m.

Detective William Flagg of the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Department said state police were assisting in the investigation and that a medical examiner had been called in.
