Bangor sweeps doubleheader Chapman, Sullivan propel Comrades past Sebasticook Valley

NEWPORT – Bangor collected 10 hits in each game posted 10-5 and 5-1 wins over Sebasticook Valley in an American Legion doubleheader on Saturday.

In the first game, Bill Chapman led the Bangor attack with a double and a single with two RBIs while Ryan Worcester singled twice with an RBI.

Shawn Henderson ripped a double and a single for Sebasticook Valley and Justin Veazie collected three RBIs on two singles.

In the second game, Andrew Sullivan pitched a four-hitter to spark Bangor. Josh Young doubled twice with an RBI and Shawn Bouchard tripled.

Veazie tripled and singled for Sebasticook and both Tom Twombley and Seth Bradstreet singled.

Old Town-Orono wins twice

At Belfast, Old Town-Orono put away Waldo County in both games of a doubleheader, 11-9 and 13-5.

In the first game, Shawn Treadwell led Old Town-Orono with two home runs and a single with three RBIs and Brad Wheaton ripped a double and three singles.

Ben Relyea cranked two home runs and a single with two RBIs while Devin Potvin singled twice for Waldo County.

In the second game, Ryan Levesque cranked two home runs and two singles with six RBIs for Old Town-Orono. Wheaton ripped a home run and three singles with two RBIs.

Ben Relyea and Devin Potvin led the Waldo attack with a home run and a single apiece.

Brewer tops Calais twice

At Brewer, Brewer used power hitting to topple over Calais in both games of a doubleheader, 12-9 and 19-3.

In the first game, Joel Barrett belted a home run and a single with two RBIs as both Abram Allard and Justin Spencer ripped a triple and a single for Brewer.

Joe Footer led the Calais attack with a double and two singles with an RBI while Doug Adams added two singles and Chad Pike doubled.

In the second game, Brian Sullivan’s three singles with an RBI led Brewer while Adam Freeman ripped two singles with two RBIs.

Steve Colbeth, Joe Footer, Kevin Loughlin, Scott McDonald, and Zach Ludington each singled for Calais.
