WISCASSET – Scott Chubbuck of Wiscasset grabbed the lead by a bumper at the completion of the ninth lap of the Pro Stock division feature and held off several subsequent challenges to post the win at Wiscasset Raceway.
Over the final two-thirds of the race, Chubbuck, John Phippen of Bar Harbor, and Oakland’s Jeff Burgess would not be seperated by more than a car length over the final 18 laps. Chubbuck, however, was the one in charge and led the other two to the checkered flag and his second win of the season.
Phippen and Burgess finished second and third, respectively. Edgecomb’s Charlie Colby and Peter Oakes of Boothbay picked up the fourth and fifth spot.
