I read with interest Sharon Mack’s front-page articles about growing GE-free corn and soybeans in Maine. It is disappointing to read the names of prominent Maine farmers who are playing into the hands of liberal fear-mongering luddites whose ultimate goal is to bring modern high-production agriculture to its knees and now they are asking the taxpayers for USDA assistance. I am sure Rep. John Baldacci will be more than happy to assist them and himself.
