Signs of the times

Bangor has posted a cruising sign on Harlow Street by the Post Office. This sign is large and among other signs, but it is impossible for any driver to read this sign while operating a motor vehicle. There is no place to stop to read it either.

Another sign is on State Street by Diva’s and again in an area that requires the driver to keep his eyes on the road. Both signs are in congested areas. These signs say you are not to pass this sign more than three times from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. or you are subject to arrest. I was not aware that all the downtown stores were closed at 7 p.m. Our city councilors should be looking at doing something for our young people not continuing to give them a hard time.

Bangor has tried for a long time to build up shopping downtown and I am sure it would be younger people going down to shop in the evening, not older ones. Our court system is overloaded now so why does the city want to add more? Our tax dollars could be better spent repairing our streets. Most of them are a disgrace.
