Snyder leads Hurricanes in Quebec

MONTREAL – The Hurricane Swim Club of Bangor had several swimmers reach the finals of the Quebec Cup, a Canadian World Cup qualifying meet that attracts Canadian Olympians and club teams from the U.S. The meet was held from June 29-July 1 at the Olympic Park.

Lindsey Snyder recorded the Hurricanes’ top finish with an eighth place in the 100-meter backstroke (1:11.46). She was also 13th in the 200 back and 17th in the 50 back, and led off a 400 medley relay that finished in 18th (Kiki O’Donnell, Kallie Pottle and Kayle Shapero rounded out the relay). The same foursome was 16th in the 400 freestyle relay, while the Hurricanes’ B team was 17th in that event. O’Donnell earned a 17th place in the 50 breaststroke.

The Hurricanes scored 37 points to finish 20th of 37 teams.
