CAMDEN – A dedication is planned next week for the new launching ramp built by the town during the past year.

The ceremony will be at 9 a.m. Saturday, July 14.

The ramp is on Steamboat Landing Road, just off Sea Street.

Wayfarer Marine will make parking available for the occasion.

Fred Crockett will be the master of ceremonies; Willard Wight, present chairman of the harbor committee, is expected to deliver a short address; and Avard ‘Bud’ Chater will launch a small vessel.

The U.S. Coast Guard is expected to bring a small vessel to the dedication, and there will be music by the Stan Catell Trio. Town Manager Roger Moody will cut the ribbon, and Father Gene Gaffey will deliver a blessing. Representatives of various marine and civic organizations and the companies responsible for construction have been invited.
