Bangor advances to senior final Orono-Veazie all-stars to battle Lincoln in elimination contest

BANGOR – Bangor won two games over the weekend to advance to the championship round in the Senior League All-Star baseball tourney at Mansfield Stadium in Bangor.

Bangor defeated Old Town on Saturday 19-11 and then edged Orono-Veazie 3-1 in nine innings on Sunday. Orono-Veazie defeated Lincoln 15-13 on Saturday and will play Lincoln again on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in an elimination game. Lincoln eliminated Old Town 12-2 on Sunday to set up Tuesday’s game in the double-elimination tourney.

Senior League baseball

Bangor 19, Old Town 11

At Bangor Saturday, Mike LaRochelle paced Bangor over Old Town with four singles and an RBI.

Matt LaRochelle doubled and singled with three RBIs while P.J. Dowe and Jeff Ward each nailed two singles for Bangor.

Nick Aucoin and Joey Guerette each belted three singles with an RBI for Old Town while Jason Geroux cracked a three-run triple.

At Bangor Saturday, Pat Healy’s double and two singles with four RBIs led Orono-Veazie over Lincoln.

Josh Keefe and Evan James each ripped a double and a single with an RBI for Orono-Veazie as Keith Nason and Jeff Miller notched two singles apiece.

Matt Malone led the Lincoln attack with three singles with an RBI while Tom Lasko and Chris Pete each singled twice.

At Bangor Sunday, seven different batters notched a hit for Lincoln as they rolled over Old Town.

Joey Guerette, Mike Russell, Kyle Dupuis and Josh Fournier each singled for Old Town.

At Brewer Saturday, Josh Guiggey paced Katahdin with two doubles and a single with three RBIs.

Ethan Qualy notched three singles with two RBIs while Dakota Sleeper drove in four runs with two doubles for Katahdin.

Matt Duplisea, Zach Corro, and Justin Carey each singled for Holbrook.

At Brewer’s Dalton Field Saturday, Zane Gray drove in three runs with a double and a single and righthander Ryan Larochelle threw a complete-game five-hitter, striking out eight and walking five, as Bangor West triumphed.

Gray, Nick Hurst and Travis Wood had RBI singles in a decisive six-run second inning rally.

Hurst and Wood had two singles apiece.

Chase Daniels had a two-run double and a single for Brewer and David McNally doubled.

Jake McCrea led the Orrington attack with two singles as Sean Murphy tallied 11 strikeouts in five innings.

At Brewer Saturday, Jordan Clarke’s two-run double led Bangor East in a win over Old Town.

Sebastian Dionne, Nate Lewis, and Devon Lyshon each cracked RBI singles for Bangor East.

Nathan Michaud and Josh Coffin each singled twice for Old Town and Andrew O’Leary belted an RBI single.

At Brewer Saturday, Tyler Tash nailed a two-run triple to spark Lincoln to a win over Orono-Veazie.

Wayne Campbell tallied two singles with an RBI for Lincoln while Kane McKinnon notched six strikeouts.

Alex Quimby belted an RBI single for Orono-Veazie and Nathan Hennigan struck out five in four innings.

Kevin Tarr doubled and singled with two RBIs for Hermon as Evan Reynolds and Robbie Clark each notched a double.

At Dalton Field in Brewer Sunday, Josef Berry’s RBI single in the bottom of the sixth capped a dramatic comeback victory for Glenburn as it handed Katahdin its first loss.

Tim Kennerson had two singles and two RBIs for Glenburn. Ryan Ladd, who scored twice and singled, pitched a complete game for the win.

Ethan Qualey had a triple, double, single and an RBI to pace Katahdin. Gage Lake doubled.

Ben Turner had a double, two singles and an RBI to pace Orrington. Sean Murphy had a two-run double and Jeremy Gray singled twice.

Shawn Gray ripped a double and a single as Jeff Green and Mike Tardiff each belted two singles for Holbrook.

Corey Stanhope and Dustin Jalbert each added an RBI single for Hermon.

Zach Wilson belted a two-run double while Justin Phinney and Kevin McAvoy each added two singles for Brewer.

Christina Quinlan led the Lincoln attack with a double and a single as Carlita King added two singles with two RBIs.

Hannah Morin ripped four singles and a double with two RBIs for Old Town as Lindsay St. Lewis triples and singled with three RBIs.

Brittany Foye had three singles, a double, and two RBIs; Alyssa Skinner had a double, single, and three RBIs; and Megan Sherwood had a double, single and one RBI.

For Old Town, Lindsay St. Louis singled twice and drove in two runs.

Taylor had two doubles and two RBIs. Jenn Herbert hit a solo home run and a single for two RBIs while Erin Dean had two singles and three RBIs. Lindsey Stevenson and Sarah McDonald each had two singles and two RBIs.

Chloe Paul singled twice and had one RBI for Bangor.
