TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Gov. Jeb Bush returned from vacationing with his family in Maine with a fractured middle finger.
Bush, who spent part of last week and the weekend at the family residence in Kennebunkport, Maine, crushed the finger between two boats, one of which was driven by his father, former President George Bush.
“Fortunately it wasn’t severed, but it hurt,” the Florida governor said Tuesday at a news conference during which reporters noticed his heavily bandaged finger and asked the governor to explain.
Bush said doctors didn’t find any tendon damage, but that one of the bones on the middle finger of his left hand was fractured.
The break kept Bush from playing all the golf he wanted to with his father and brother, President Bush. But he said he still managed to throw horseshoes with his other hand.
