PORTLAND – One of three men in an alleged drug ring has pleaded guilty to conspiracy charges in Maine.
Michael Sales, 26, of Broomfield, Colo., was charged with conspiring to distribute marijuana and cocaine, according to court documents.
He also was charged with the theft of a firearm and using a firearm in the conspiracy.
He pleaded guilty Thursday in U.S. District Court.
The charges stemmed from a series of drug-related robberies that occurred last year in York County, said U.S. Attorney Paula Silsby.
Two other members of the alleged drug ring, Andrew Ross and Daniel Wentworth, died in December after a gunfight with drug enforcement officers in Chicago’s Union Station.
Sales is expected to be sentenced this fall.
