HERMON – The winner’s purse for the pro stock and limited sportsman divisions at Speedway 95 will increase for the remainder of the season, Speedway 95 co-owner Del Merritt announced Saturday night.
Starting Saturday, July 28, the winner of the 35-lap pro stock feature event will win $1,000. The limited sportsman purse will go to $500 starting Saturday, Aug. 4.
Merritt said he is upping the first-place prizes to win back drivers who have left Speedway 95 for tracks with higher purses.
The purse structure for second and third places will stay the same.
The three remaining Partnership for a Tobacco Free Maine 50-lap pro stock events will continue to pay $1,500 and the pay for lower finishing positions will remain the same as it had been for those special races.
Neither division will race Saturday, July 21.
