FORT KENT – Police have charged a juvenile with a break-in and theft at a private home. They also are investigating a weekend break-in at a Boy Scout building on the grounds of the Fort Kent Blockhouse.
A young boy was charged with the break-in at a mobile home at the Mountain View Trailer Park on Friday.
Police were alerted to the possibility of a break-in by the homeowner’s brother. Upon investigation, they found a barrel moved beneath a window. A screen over the window was torn, and the window had been forced open.
Officer Richard Martin apprehended a 14-year-old suspect the same night.
A door to the Boy Scout log cabin was found forced open Friday night. Taken was $120 from a file cabinet. The money was from souvenir sales made by Boy Scouts who take care of the historic site.
