ELLSWORTH – Mike Cowperthwaite pitched a six-hitter while striking out eight to lead the Trenton Acadians to a 7-0 American Legion baseball win over the Brewer Falcons Tuesday.
Cowperthwaite improved to 4-1 and Trenton clinched a playoff berth.
Josh Gray doubled twice, singled, and drove in two runs for Trenton, which clinched a playoff spot. Mark Clapp had a double, single, and RBI. Brandon Colbeth and Brad Dalton each hit RBI singles.
Abram Allard and Adam Freeman each singled twice for the Falcons.

At Belfast, Devin Potvin’s two-run single helped to lift Waldo to victory.
Ben Cowan had a sacrifice fly and a single, and Ben Relyea hit two singles.
Jake LaSelle had three singles for Sebasticook. Shawn Henderson doubled and singled, Dave Henderson hit a two-run double, and Brian Harthorne hit an RBI single.
