HERMON – John and Debbie Luce, kept it all in the family Wednesday night as the married racing duo won two feature races for the second time this season at Speedway 95.

In the ladies division, Debbie kept her Saab in front from the third lap to the checkered flag despite running a race under wet conditions after a heavy rain shower drenched the track. April Lancaster of LaGrange was runnerup while Angie Tarbox of Brewer was third. Kristen Lancaster of Carmel and Wendy Trojano of Bangor were fourth and fifth, respectively.

John, who also drove a Saab, won the little enduro feature event under slightly drier conditions after being pushed most of the race by Jason Lancaster of Carmel. Lancaster actually pulled ahead with two laps to go, but Luce moved ahead and never gave up the lead again. Scott Coffin of Carmel was third, Scott Shorey of Old town fourth, and Joe Mitchell of Milford fifth.

The big enduro racing class saw Jeff Overlock, Jr. of Hermon return to the winner’s circle after outdueling runnerup Rick Grant of Hermon and David Dore of Old Town. Levant’s Bub Wilcox was fourth and Dover-Foxcroft’s Ross Robinson fifth.

The pickup truck drivers opted not to race due to the wet conditions, so a double feature event will be run next Wednesday.
