BANGOR – A one-of-a-kind yard sale this weekend will benefit a community co-op in a corner of the city.

Proceeds from the sale of women’s clothing, boys’ clothing, household items and toys from 7 a.m. to noon today and 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at 64 Bald Mountain Drive will help support community-building activities, said Maggie Thompson.

Purchasers also will have the opportunity to buy an outfit that will help low-income women searching for or beginning new jobs. Lemonade will be sold and “soft karaoke” will be presented throughout the weekend.

Thompson, who is a breast-cancer survivor, said that so many people had created a community of support for her, she now wants to organize an effort that will help others use their gifts to help their neighbors.

For more information on the project, contact Thompson at the yard sale.
