BANGOR – P.J. Dowe belted a double and a single with an RBI to help Bangor eliminate South Portland 11-6 in state Senior Little League baseball tourney action at Mansfield Stadium Sunday.

The victory set up a Monday elimination game at 7:30 tonight between Bangor and Coastal, which defeated Bangor on Saturday 6-5.

Josh Young and Nate Hall each singled twice while Josh Heath notched an RBI double for the winners.

Andrew Wood led the South Portland attack with a triple and a single and Matt Damon added two singles.

Senior League baseball

Coastal 6, Bangor 5

At Mansfield Stadium in Bangor on Saturday, Mike Astbury led Coastal over Bangor with a double and a single with an RBI.

Nick Henry and Ryan Hutchins each added two singles for Coastal while Brett Harmon doubled.

P.J. Dowe singled twice as Nate Hall and Josh Heath each notched two RBIs for Bangor.

At Bangor on Saturday, Chris Tait paced South Portland over Auburn with a game-winning RBI triple in the fourth inning.

Dave Bogart tallied 11 strikeouts the lead South Portland.

Joe Simpson belted an RBI single for South Portland while Colby Souders, Greg Hird, and Bryan Mooney added a single apiece.

At Bangor, Saco scored five runs on six hits in the first inning to beat Coastal of Blue Hill Sunday.

Derek Benavides, Keil Martin, and Travis Griffin each nailed two singles for Saco while John Tremblay tripled with two RBIs.

Chris Candage, Tony Conroy, and Dusty Bates each belted an RBI single for Coastal.

At Auburn, Brian Hackett drove in four runs on three singles and a double to lift Bangor to the win in the state tourney for ages 13-14.

Ben Silver singled twice and knocked in two runs for Bangor. Matt Currier, Ryan Kearns and Mike McPike each hit two singles and contributed an RBI. Hackett struck out two and had a three-hitter going into the seventh.

Eric Shaw led Westbrook with two singles and two RBIs. Anthony D’Alfonso singled twice and added an RBI.

Catherine Hutchins belted three singles for Portland while Alex Koocher doubled and singled with two RBIs.

Darcy Gillespie led the Calais attack with a double.

At Frankfort on Saturday, Biddeford took advantage of an error and a wild pitch to score five runs in the fourth inning to beat Bangor East.

Deanna Cay and Ashley Potvin each singled with an RBI for Biddeford.

Taylor Lauritsen nailed a double with two RBIs for Bangor East while Maureen Capehart and Emily Heath each singled twice.

At Frankfort on Saturday, Kristen Cormier’s three singles with four RBIs led Winslow over Knox Suburban.

Katie Caron belted a double and two singles with two RBIs for Winslow while Krystal Lacombe nailed a double and a single with three RBIs.

Kayla Gushee paced the Knox Suburban attack with a home run and a single with three RBIs and Jessica Dodge notched three singles.

Deanna Kay doubled with an RBI for Biddeford.
