DOVER-FOXCROFT – An intensive backcountry medical course will be held Sept. 4-9 in Dover-Foxcroft. Mayo Regional Hospital is sponsoring the 54-hour wilderness emergency medical technician course.
Graduates will receive their WEMT certification, valid for three years, from the Wilderness Medical Associates. Students also will be eligible to receive a full continuing education credit.
The morning sessions of the course will be devoted to lectures. Afternoons and evenings will be spent outside doing skill building exercises and simulations. All simulations will be videotaped and commented upon by instructors.
