Work to address problems beneath a piece of road already under reconstruction will close part of Route 9, “the Airline,” in Townships 24 and 30, to through traffic between midnight and 5 a.m. Tuesday July 31, according to the Maine Department of Transportation.

Signs have been posted in Brewer and Baileyville to advise drivers of the closing. Emergency services have been notified as well, and state troopers will be at Route 9 intersections with Route 193 near Beddington and Route 192 in Wesley to advise drivers as they approach the area.

Local traffic will have access from both ends of the closed road as far as the work area, but travel through the work area will not be allowed.
